Dollar Store Candles Get Glammed

I was on Google reader this morning and came across these gorgeous candles at
A wonderful blog that I follow!

I was so inspired that I set off to create my own.

Yesterday, we went to the big city.  I needed some supplies for my advent calendar (coming soon), and spied these beauties.

They are battery candles, which if I am not mistaken, were quite pricey not long ago.  I bought two.  These would make a great gift for someone who doesn't care for open flames.

I got off my glue gun, grabbed the glitter and got to "glamming".

I cut masking tape into thinner strips.

Masked off areas that I wanted to keep red.
I wanted this one to spiral down the candle.

White glue was applied with a paint brush, as I didn't have any Modge Podge

I poured glitter over the glue in a little box to capture all the un-used glitter for re-use!

The tape was removed carefully.  I had to use a seam ripper to capture an edge of the tape.

Candle #2 in glitter bath.

Done!

Cheers!
