Part two brings us a new living room....in the kitchen.
We set up the necessary furniture...#1 being the TV of course, and then somewhere to park our butts after a long day of renovating.
I just jump behind the couch for coffee in the morning,
I feel like I am watching reality TV with all the cooking from Mr. FT happening right before my eyes.
TV snacks are within arms reach which means never hitting the pause button!.
We now have a west wing which includes the master bedroom.
Lucky me!
Access is available from the basement and up a ladder.
Nuff bragging about the west wing.
We will now step into 1904 A.K.A. the old part of the house.
This is the wall that will be gone soon.
Through the doorway is where our laundry room used to be.
Only three layers of flooring! |
Holy crap....what have we gotten ourselves into?
Perhaps we could skip to the end now
Cheers.
You can get a gig as a stand up comic!! Sure gave me a smile this morning! I know it's a lot of work but will be so worth it when complete.
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime you have a comfy situation set up with your furniture by the kitchen!!
Enjoy the process and keep us updated. Looking forward to the reveal. Have a great midweek. xo
I mouthed "Holy crap" at the exact same type I scrolled to yours. May the force be with you, sista. (I'm considering putting my couch broadside in my living room so I need to hurdle it constantly, as a work out. Good idea.)
ReplyDeleteI thought "Holy Crap" when I first saw the wall still in tact. OMG! You guys could have your own renovation show! I love that you take pictures to share--and you will have all the memories of every ache and pain when it's all over with. ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL. Crazy times, Karen, but I'm sure it will be wonderful when done.

WOW! My hats off to you and your hubby for having the vision and determination to keep moving forward! Are you sure you don't have Chip Gaines lurking in the background, or maybe you should summon him.....he seems to knock renos out in nothing flat! I know, creative tv & a huge work force. I do think Chip has met his match in the "wit" department, and you could probably take that "saucy humor" on the road if you need to feather your reno-budget!
ReplyDeleteWarm hugs,
Carol
I really think you are onto something with the furniture in the kitchen. I may just have to blow out my kitchen wall so I can move my couch next to the snacks, and still be able to watch tv all at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI really don't know what's worse in renovation, the demolishing of the old or all the cleanup that comes with it. You have quite the mess going on, but I am envisioning the beauty that will be the final product.
Keep on chugging, my friend. I can't wait to see the end results!
Is there any reno you don't do??? One of the funnest parts of a renovation is the makeshift ways you have to move your furniture around. Sometimes you discover a layout that you think, hmmmm, maybe we'll just leave it like this, it really kind of works. haha. Your kitchen is beautiful, I can only imagine how the other half is going to look. So exited for you. Keep up the hard work and I look forward to seeing the next phase xo Amy
ReplyDeleteIt is always unusual for me to see houses with wooden walls, since in my country all houses are made from bricks even the inside walls.
ReplyDeleteThat's a huge project, so of course, it means a lot of mess, but peeing while watching TV is certainly the best thing about this reno!
ReplyDeleteWow! You guys have been busy! Your kitchen is so pretty! And how awesome that it is big enough to house the sofa for now. I can't wait to see what you do! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Vicky
OMG! You are into some serious renovation there. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's all finished. I know it will be amazing. You're kitchen looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteNo one would ever accuse you two of being lazy...or lacking a sense of humor ;). I'm staring to get 'reno envy' over here.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter thinks i am gross because I don't always close the door when I pee. Now if only I could get a TV to watch!
Oh my goodness! No, I'm not envious of your west wing, but I'm sure I'll be. That's a gigantic project but with your determination and sense of humor you can tackle anything!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I agree with Cristina, you can indeed tackle anything! I had to laugh at how you jump over the couch for coffee :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck and have fun! I know it will look amazing when it's done. And would it be wrong to say I'm glad it's you and not me?? Just kidding :) Hugs!
